Hemp Hurd for Hempcrete

Our hemp hurd is the clean, inner woody core of the hemp stalk, grown organically in the Midwest with no chemicals or pesticides. It is lightweight, breathable, and ideal for mixing with lime and water to create hempcrete.

A typical hempcrete mix uses one part hemp hurd, 1.5 parts lime, and two parts water. The result is a natural, non-toxic building material that is durable, moisture-regulating, and long-lasting.

• 100% organic Midwest- grown hemp
• Dust-free, fiber-free, clean hurd
• Approx. 1/2" average size for consistent mixes
• Excellent thermal and sound insulation
• Naturally anti-mold and anti-fungal
• Breathable and moisture regulating
• Carbon-negative building material
• Fire resistance rated up to 2 hours

Hempcrete is a sustainable alternative to conventional concrete and insulation. It provides strong thermal performance, resists moisture and odors, and contains no toxic chemicals or off-gassing materials.

Hemp hurd smolders rather than ignites, releasing very little heat or smoke. Independent testing shows hempcrete walls can resist fire exposure for up to two hours, making it a safer choice for eco-friendly homes.
