In 1999, I envisioned a website that offered everyday eco-friendly items, ensuring consumers could trust these choices as the "least-worst" in terms of impact on people and the planet. By the time the opportunity to pursue my dream arrived, I was surprised this initiative hadn’t already been realized. It's astonishing how much time and effort goes into researching everyday products like sneakers, trash cans, brooms, and toothpaste. Navigating these choices to ensure minimal harm to the environment, and people, can be overwhelming. The more research I did into child and forced labor used in many of our every day products, the more I realized that this dream needs to be realized sooner rather than later to protect our most vulnerable populations, as well as our planet.
